Baluchari – A exquisite range of Sarees produced in Bisnupur, Bankura District of West Bengal. These are completely hand-woven and every Baluchari takes 2 to 3 weeks to finish. It is characterised by Fine quality silk, gorgeous motifs at regular intervals and an pallu chaterised by intricate art work depicted Ramayana or Mahabharat episodes. When Motifs and Pallu are woven with multiple coloured threads, the Baluchari are called Minakari. When woven with Zari threads, these are referred to as Swarnachari. To learn more, click here.
